Tsukiji Town in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture, has been rich in high-quality wood since ancient times and is famous as the hometown of the sacred tree used in the Ise Jingu Shrine's annual relocation ceremony. It is in place Arai Sawmill, a mountain village rich in natural resources, provides locally grown wood in the form of logs and transforms it into products, all of which are carried out locally.
Every tree is a valuable resource and the timber used in the panels is designed so that no waste is produced during the sawing stage. The mountain cherry tree is a broad-leaved tree with a beautiful wood surface that is resin-free, strong and scratch-resistant , and will turn a light brown color with use. It is the perfect material for everyday tools.
