Oinichi Kiln is located in Yamashina Ward, Kyoto City, which is connected to Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The town became prosperous because of the main transportation hub when Kyoto was the capital in ancient times. There is a sunflower field near the studio, Mr. Takemura, the owner of the kiln, turned the planted sunflowers into ashes to use as a glaze, and used natural glazes such as grapes, sunflowers, figs, etc., to create a unique glaze.

"Kyo-yaki・Kiyomizu-yaki" is a combination of two traditional ceramic techniques. There is no specific style and technique. One is a fusion of all techniques. With its elegant, refined and ingenious pottery that emphasizes traditional features, while having more innovative designs for modern life, each piece retains its unique charm.

Different from the traditional Japanese design, light blue is paired with bright orange. Bold and novel color matching, jumping out of the traditional design. Made with traditional craftsmanship, each bowl has its own uniqueness and handcrafted warmth.
