"SOY.SOLA"/"GOD DAG"
In the 1950s and 1960s, Hong Kong's manufacturing industry began to take off, with the textile and garment industries being particularly prosperous. According to statistics, in the 1970s, more than 230,000 people worked in textile factories, mostly women. However, since China's reform and opening up in the 1980s, local factories have moved northward. As a result, the local manufacturing industry has gradually declined, and the female workers who rely on car clothing to make a living can no longer survive.
The establishment of "Women's Cloth Society" is precisely to enable this group of women with sewing skills to show their talents again and provide affordable clothing alteration services and the sale of homemade products to the neighbors. Similarly, " GOD DAG " founded by LOCHING and CHANNY , in addition to being a high-quality selection store, also cooperates with a group of tailors with more than 40 years of experience to produce a variety of self-designed clothes. LOCHING , who once studied rattanware making in Kyoto, has established another personal brand " SOY.SOLA " to develop various types of rattanware in the form of weaving art.
This time we invited her to design a rattan basket handbag. There are two options : L SIZE, which can be worn on the shoulder, and S SIZE, which is portable. Another local brand, "Dyeing Le Gongfang", will use the "tea dyeing" method. The raw materials of Awaban tea, cherry blossoms and chrysanthemum tea are used to dye the fabric into blue and pink. Finally, it is sewn into bags by the "Nybutsusha", and the remaining fabric is also processed into exquisite bags. All proceeds from this cooperation, after deducting costs, will be donated to the "Nv Cloth Society" to support the inheritance of clothing craftsmanship.
