The raw material of rush is the rush produced in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, the largest production area in Japan, accounting for 90% of the country's total production.

High-quality rushes of uniform size and length are all sorted by hand and carefully dyed with dyes in a mechanized facility.
